Big Shanty Park is located in Kennesaw just east of Kennesaw Mountain High School. The park has two full-sized natural grass soccer fields and several baseball fields. The central area between the baseball fields has a concession stand and restroom facilities.

Driving time is approximately 35 minutes from Metro North Park. Driving directions:

  1. Turn right onto Paper Mill Road and go about 3 miles until Paper Mill ends at Terrell Mill Road.
  2. Turn left at a traffic light onto Terrell Mill and go about 2.2 miles. Terrell Mill becomes Delk Road during this stretch.
  3. Take the entrance ramp on the right for I-75 North. Take I-75 until exit #271, Chastain Road.
  4. Turn left onto Chastain Road and go about 2.6 miles. During this stretch, you’ll pass Kennesaw State on the right and McCollum Airport on the left. Shortly after you pass the airport, you’ll come to a major intersection with US-41 / Cobb Parkway. Get in either of the right turn lanes. There’s a skating rink on the left just before the intersection, with a Huddle House on the right at the intersection.
  5. Turn right onto US-41 / Cobb Parkway, get in the left lane, go 0.3 miles until the first traffic light: Kennesaw Due West Road.
  6. Turn left onto Kennesaw Due West, go 1.0 miles.
  7. Big Shanty Park is on the left just before you reach Kennesaw Mountain High School.

Driving time is approximately 20 minutes from United Quest Park. Driving directions:

  1. Turn right onto Hawkins Store Road, go 1.6 miles to Bells Ferry Road.
  2. Turn left onto Bells Ferry, go 0.3 miles.
  3. Take the entrance ramp on the right for I-575 South. Stay in the entrance lane; it becomes the exit lane for Chastain Road.
  4. Take the first exit, Chastain Road, and turn right at the top of the exit ramp onto Chastain.
  5. Stay on Chastain Road for 3.2 miles. During this stretch, you’ll pass Kennesaw State on the right and McCollum Airport on the left. Shortly after you pass the airport, you’ll come to a major intersection with US-41 / Cobb Parkway. Get in either of the right turn lanes. There’s a skating rink on the left just before the intersection, with a Huddle House on the right at the intersection.
