The Acclimation Camp is a new NTH camp offering. It takes place June 4-7 at United Quest Park. Camp runs 9 AM – 12 Noon each day. (Drop-off starts at 8:30 AM.)
This camp got lost in the shuffle of a very busy May schedule that included end-of-season tournaments, a pre-tryout camp, end of the school year and tryout week. So we’re calling it optional. If your daughter is available, bring her for some learning and fun! If you are away on vacation or have other commitments, no worries!
The Acclimation Camp has a fee of $125. (Our August Junior Academy Team Camp is included in your Junior Academy fees.)
Camp agenda
We’ll treat the camp sessions more like regular Junior Academy practices, less like tryout sessions.
- We’ll spend about 60% of each session working on ball control: ball manipulation, dribbling, changing directions and speed with the ball. We’ll mix plenty of game-like activities (such as dribbling marbles, volcano island, electric fence and snow cones) with basic repetition work.
- Snack break
- We’ll move into scrimmages, starting with specific conditions / restrictions, and then finishing with free play.
- It will likely be hot by the time we wrap up, so we’ll have a brief after-party featuring the ever-popular “hose head” and “hose-A” activities.
Camp registration
Do you have an NTH website account?
- Returning NTH players (Academy or recreational) have an account.
- If you are new to NTH, but you registered on-line for tryouts and your daughter was assigned a tryout number (instead of a letter), you have an NTH account.
- If you are new to NTH, and you didn’t register on-line for tryouts, you will need to create an NTH website account.

Once you’re logged in, you may see basic parent / guardian account info. If so, select Back to My Account to return to your account’s dashboard. Your daughter should be listed as a participant, with a button listing a number of programs available. Click the programs available button, scroll through the list of programs, select U-8 (2011) Girls Academy Acclimation Camp and follow the prompts.
The camp location was changed recently from Metro North Park to United Quest Park. When we checked the registration page earlier, it didn’t yet reflect the location change. The camp will take place at United Quest Park.
Camp schedule
- 8:30 AM – 8:45 AM: drop-off behind the United Quest Park clubhouse
- 9:00 AM – 11:50 AM: camp session
- 11:50 AM – 12:00 Noon: closing huddle, group photos, “hose head” activities
Weather info
Our camps are normally “rain or shine” events (once they get started!). If we get lightning or driving rain during the session, we’ll take shelter until the storm passes. If we have one of those days where it’s storming in the morning and the forecast calls for more of the same throughout the day, check your age group’s weather communication channel for any updates.
