Game day notes
- Venue: We play at Metro North Park. Our 5v5 game is on the small turf field. Our 7v7 games are on field 2A, which is the field in front of the clubhouse.
- Uniforms: Players should wear their gold uniforms. We’ll use practice vests to distinguish teams in the intra-Academy game. This allows us to easily move players around if needed to keep competitive balance.
- Weather: The early forecast calls for a cooler day. The girls may want to wear warm-ups during pre-game warm-up. Please make sure their warm-up jackets and pants have their name or initials and uniform number.
- Weekly quiz: We post a quiz each week below the team assignments. Scroll past the roster table for quiz details.
- Warm-up captains: Girls whose names are in bold print with a (C) indicator are warm-up captains. They are responsible for gathering their teammates and helping the coach start pre-game warm-up. Link: warm-up ideas

Weekly quiz – playing in the back
You can win a treat after our Wednesday or Thursday practice if you can answer the following questions about positioning by our center and outside backs.
- You are playing center back. When do you move forward to join the attack?
- You are playing center back. When do you drop back to defend?
- You are playing center back. The other team is attacking. You want to get _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ of the ball to make it harder for the other team to score. (It’s an 8-letter word that rhymes with “toll ride”)
- You are playing outside back. When do you move forward to join the attack?
- You are playing outside back. When do you move back to defend?
- You are playing right outside back and have pushed forward to help teammates who are attacking on the left side of the field. Should you run to the left side to get close to your teammates, or should you stay on your side and get open on the far post side of the goal?
