Game day notes
- Field location: We’re at the Metro North Park TOPS field.
- Chilly morning? The early weather forecast predicted a chilly morning, but as of Friday, we’re looking at lower 60s for the games. Girls shouldn’t need to take any extra measures to stay warm.
- Rain? The forecast as of Friday calls for showers late Saturday morning / early afternoon. As long as it’s not driving rain, and there’s no lightning, we’ll still play. If anything changes between now and game time, we’ll post updates on our usual bad weather communication channels.
- Weekly quiz: We post a quiz each week below the team assignments. Scroll past the roster table for quiz details.
- Warm-up captains: Girls whose names are in bold print with a (C) indicator are warm-up captains. They are responsible for gathering their teammates and helping the coach start pre-game warm-up. Link: warm-up ideas

Weekly quiz — passing with the inside of the foot
Girls can win a treat after our Wednesday or Thursday practice if they can demonstrate proper technique for passing or shooting with the inside of the foot, and also answer these questions about your approach to the ball when you strike it with the inside of the foot.
- Do you want the ball under your body, straight in front of you, in front of you at a slight angle, or to the side?
- What should you do with your plant foot (also called your standing foot or pointer foot)?
- Should you lean back or lean forward as you approach the ball?
- Should your hips be facing your target, or away from your target?
- Should you keep your legs stiff, or should you bend your knees?
