A collection of late August, 2021 news items:
Labor Day weekend schedule:
We’re off Labor Day weekend, and won’t practice on Labor Day itself (Monday, Sept. 6). Our weekly game day schedule starts Saturday, September 11, the first Saturday after Labor Day.
Girls who normally practice on Monday and want a make-up session are welcome to attend our Tuesday practice at Metro North Park, 5:00-6:15 PM (early-bird start at 4:30).
Early bird practice times:
We don’t like to cancel practices, but bad weather sometimes leads to that decision. We will offer optional “early bird” practice times at both parks to help make-up for time lost due to recent rainouts. Quest Park practices are still officially 5:30-6:45 PM, but we’ll be ready to start with early birds at 5:00 PM. Metro North practices are still officially 5:00-6:15 PM, but we’ll be ready to start with early birds at 4:30 PM. The early bird practice option continues in September.
If your schedule permits, you’re welcome to bring your daughter for part or all of the early bird practice time. If your schedule is tight, just bring your daughter at the usual start time. Girls are also welcome to attend practice at the other park if they want extra practice time.
Goalkeeper training:
We offer optional weekly after-practice goalkeeper training sessions. Quest Park goalie training takes place on Wednesdays, 6:55 – 7:30 PM. Metro North goalie training takes place Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:25-7:00 PM. Sessions are optional and free.
Poll: uniform shirts:
Our uniform supplier had some supply delays. Please complete a quick Survey Monkey poll to let us know which uniform jerseys you have already received: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MM9F5MY. This will help us plan uniform colors for upcoming game days.
Poll: e-mail addresses:
The same Survey Monkey poll above allows you to choose whether to opt in or opt out of sharing your e-mail address(es) on our roster: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MM9F5MY
- Opt in: We’ll include your family’s e-mail address(es) on an updated PDF roster which we’ll send to our Junior Academy Girls families. But we won’t post your e-mail address(es) on our web site.
- Opt out: We’ll still include you in group e-mails. But we won’t include your e-mail address(es) on our PDF roster.
Game day schedule conflicts:
Each game day is a bit like a jigsaw puzzle, fitting players into game day roster slots. Our goal is to post each weekend’s team assignments on Sunday night, six days before each game day. The biggest challenge to this task is being aware of any schedule conflicts. If your daughter has a schedule conflict, we ask that you please alert us by the Saturday before the schedule conflict. (Our system supports schedule conflict alerts up to a year in advance.)
