We are entering our final week of the 2017-2018 soccer year! We have our normal practice schedule May 14-17. We finish the season with the 2018 NTH Academy Cup tournament, where we’ll field 5 teams for a total of 15-20 games over the May 19-20 weekend.
Practices
- We’re due for some hot weather! Please make sure your daughter pre-hydrates before practices, brings a half gallon (or bigger) water jug to practices, and drinks plenty of healthy fluids after practices. Link: hydration tips
- Weather: We’re in afternoon thunderstorm season. If weather is iffy, we’ll post practice updates on our Twitter account and phone hot-line by 4 PM (same process we’ve used since August). Link: bad weather communication channels
NTH Adidas Cup tournament
- All of our games are scheduled at either United Quest Park or nearby Noonday Park. Update Sunday @ 1 PM: Team assignments and schedules are now posted.
- If you have not yet submitted in-house fees ($12 per player) and/or tournament fees ($63 per player), please do so right away. Link: in-house and tournament fees

- Weather update: Check here for the latest update from the tournament director regarding the weather.
What happens after the tournament?
- The soccer clock rolls over, advancing from the 2017-2018 year to the 2018-2019 year. Our 2010 players become age-eligible for the U9 Academy program, while our 2011 players are eligible for another year in the Junior Academy program. There are two upcoming events related to the new soccer year.
Pre-tryout camp — May 21-23:
- NTH offers pre-tryout open house camp the week of May 21st. This isn’t mandatory, but it’s highly recommended for the girls who are aging up from Junior Academy to U9.
- The camp is free for current NTH Academy players. Link: NTH Academy open house camp details.
Tryouts — May 29-31:
- Tryouts for the 2018-2019 NTH Academy and Junior Academy programs start Tuesday, May 29th. Check our tryouts page for more information.
Why do the camp and tryouts happen so soon?
- Good question! Our governing body requires teams / Academy groups to be declared and registered by early July for fall scheduling purposes. The best chance to take care of tryouts and registration is right after the current year, before vacations and summer camps take center stage.
