We start our spring 2020 game day schedule with two intra-Academy 5v5 games at Metro North Park on our usual TOPS field.
Game day notes:
- About game days: This is our first game day in 3+ months. We ask that parents and their daughters spend 10 minutes together reviewing what happens on game days, along with understanding player and parent responsibilities and guidelines. Links: what to expect on game day #1 / general game day procedures and guidelines. Reminder: no jewelry!
- Cold weather: We’re due for wind chill in the 30s. Girls will want to dress for the conditions. Link: tips on cold weather attire.
- As a player warms up, she may want to remove a layer, so off comes a jacket or pants. And on comes the evil lost & found gremlin. Please make sure your daughter’s warm-up jacket and pants are labeled — use a Sharpie to mark her initials and uniform number on one of the internal tags or labels.
- Uniforms: Players should wear their yellow uniforms. We’ll use colored practice vests to distinguish teams.
- Rosters: We’ll make specific team assignments after warm-ups.
- Weekly quiz: We post a quiz each week below the team assignments. Scroll past the roster table for quiz details.
- Warm-up captains: Girls whose names are in bold print with a (C) indicator are warm-up captains. They are responsible for gathering their teammates and helping the coach start pre-game warm-up. Link: warm-up ideas

Weekly quiz – dribbling moves:
Girls can win a treat after our Wednesday or Thursday practice if they can demonstrate at least two dribbling turns, and also answer this question: “What are the three parts of a dribbling move?”
