Field status update (Saturday @ 6:45 AM): Quest Park fields are open, so we’ll play our games as scheduled on Quest Park field 7.
Game day notes:
- Parental “no coaching” request: A reminder that we ask parents to be their daughter’s biggest fans, but not their daughter’s game day coaches. We want to let players make their own decisions. Encouragement after a play is great (i.e., nice pass!), but direction during a play isn’t recommended (i.e., “shoot!” or “get the ball“). More about our philosophy: http://www.nasaacademygirls.org/misc/parent-education/coaching-from-parents-sideline/.
- No jewelry reminder: “No jewelry” is one of soccer’s rules. Link: jewelry rule
- Uniforms: Players should wear their yellow uniforms. (They should also bring their blue uniforms in case of unexpected color conflicts.) We’ll use colored practice vests to distinguish teams in the intra-Academy games.
- All players have received pink practice vests. They should bring them to every practice and game day.
- Cold weather alert: We’re due for cold weather Saturday morning: upper 30s for the first game, mid-40s for the later games. Girls may want to go with cold weather attire.
- Weekly quiz: We post a quiz each week below the team assignments. Scroll past the roster table for quiz details.
- Warm-up captains: Girls whose names are in bold print with a (C) indicator are warm-up captains. They are responsible for gathering their teammates and helping the coach start pre-game warm-up. Link: warm-up ideas

Weekly quiz – stop and go dribbling moves:
Girls can win a treat after our Wednesday or Thursday practice if they can demonstrate at least two stop and go dribbling moves, and also answer this question: “When does a stop and go move work best?”
