Field status (updated Saturday, March 27 @ 6:50 PM): Noonday Park fields are open, games are on as scheduled. A reminder that our game day field (#9A) is on the back side of the park; use the Shallowford Road entrance.
We’re at Noonday Park for a rare full slate of 7v7 games against teams from Gwinnett Soccer Association.
This will be a challenging test for our girls! The field will be much larger than our usual 5v5 fields. The increased field size and number of opponents puts more value on passing and positional sense than on dribbling. (But dribbling skills are still important.)
We’ll define success as improvement between the 1st half and 2nd half of each game.
Game day notes:
- Field location: We’re scheduled to play at Noonday Park field #9A. Noonday is close to Quest Park. Field 9 is toward the back end of the park. Check the map link for more info about Noonday’s back entrance (it’s the entrance off Shallowford Road, not Hawkins Store Road). If you enter via the front entrance, you may end up late and ruin your Saturday mojo. We want positive mojo on our side!
- No jewelry reminder: “No jewelry” is one of soccer’s rules. Link: jewelry rule
- Uniforms: Players should wear their yellow uniforms. (They should also bring their blue uniforms in case of unexpected color conflicts.) We’ll use colored practice vests to distinguish teams in the intra-Academy games.
- All players have received pink practice vests. They should bring them to every practice and game day.

- Warm-up captains: Girls whose names are in bold print with a (C) indicator are warm-up captains. They are responsible for gathering their teammates and helping the coach start pre-game warm-up. Link: warm-up ideas
