Game day notes:
- No jewelry reminder: “No jewelry” is one of soccer’s rules. Link: jewelry rule
- Uniforms: We’re wear yellow uniforms for Saturday’s games, and blue uniforms for Sunday’s bonus game. (The girls should also bring their blue uniforms in case of unexpected color conflicts.) We’ll use our pink practice vests to distinguish teams in the intra-Academy games.
- All players have received pink practice vests. They should bring them to every practice and game day.
- Sunday bonus game: Updated Wed., April 28 @ 1 PM: Our 7v7 bonus game against an NTH U9 team was canceled. We were fortunate to be able to reserve a 7v7 field, so the bonus game now becomes a 7v7 intra-Academy game. This will allow an additional 9 players to get a 7v7 game.
- Roster spots: If your daughter is available / interested in playing 7v7 on Sunday, please e-mail Ward. If roster spots are over-subscribed, we’ll give priority based on attendance statistics.
- Field location: Sunday’s bonus game is scheduled at Noonday Park field
#9A#9B. Noonday is close to Quest Park. Field 9 is toward the back end of the park. Check the map link for more info about Noonday’s back entrance (it’s the entrance off Shallowford Road, not Hawkins Store Road). If you enter via the front entrance, you may end up late and ruin your Sunday mojo. We want positive mojo on our side! - Sunday warm-up time: We’ll have an earlier than normal warm-up start time for Sunday’s game (2:45 PM for a 3:30 game). This will give us some extra time to review positional guidelines for the 7v7 game format.
- Warm-up captains: Girls whose names are in bold print with a (C) indicator are warm-up captains. They are responsible for gathering their teammates and helping the coach start pre-game warm-up. Link: warm-up ideas
