We have a set of four games on Saturday, October 9. Games are split between Mt. Bethel Elementary School and Quest Park. We also have a 7v7 prep session on Sunday, October 10.
Game day notes:
- Two venues: The 9:00 AM game takes place at Mt. Bethel Elementary School (the Cobb County school, not the church). The later games take place at Quest Park on one of our regular fields (field #7A).
- Uniforms: We’re wearing our yellow uniforms for all games. We’ll use colored practice vests to distinguish teams in the intra-Academy game. If your daughter has both this year’s and last year’s yellow shirt, have her wear her new one and bring her old one as a potential loaner.
- Uniform not yet delivered? Have your daughter wear her gray practice shirt. If she doesn’t have either her yellow game day shirt or gray practice shirt, have her wear a light colored shirt.
- DH girls needed @ 3:30 PM: We are looking for some double-header volunteers. As of Tuesday, we have three roster spots open in the 3:30 PM game. If your daughter is set to play earlier, and is also available to play again at 3:30, please notify Ward.
- No jewelry! This is worth a reminder, because it can prevent spirit-crushing boo-hoo-hoo moments. Link: jewelry rule
- Warm-up captains: Girls whose names are in bold print with a (C) indicator are warm-up captains. They are responsible for gathering their teammates and helping the coaches start pre-game warm-up. Link: warm-up ideas

Supportive parent tip:
We love parents to offer in-game encouragement to their daughters and teammates! But we ask that they try not to make in-game decisions for the players. Why?
Encouragement is quick and usually doesn’t require a conversation for additional context. But trying to make decisions for a player may not be clear to the player without further explanation, such as what, how, when, where and why. This is very hard to pull off while the ball is live without distracting or confusing the player.
As part of our coaching role, we’ll add situational context when there’s a coachable moment, such as before or after a play, or during a conversation when the player has subbed out for a break. Link: further details
