We have a set of three 5v5 intra-Academy games at Metro North Park on Saturday, October 22nd.
Game day notes:
- No jewelry: Well done to the parents and girls for leaving jewelry at home on game days!
- Chilly morning weather? We will likely have a morning chill before our 9:00 game. The current forecast calls for morning temperatures in the low 40s. Girls may want to wear a long sleeve shirt under their uniform shirt. If they chill easily, gloves and tights or leggings may be appropriate. Link: cold weather tips
Label warm-up jackets and pants:
There will be days when players will want to wear warm-up jackets and pants. As a player warms up, she may want to remove a layer, so off comes a jacket, hoody or pants. And on comes the evil lost & found gremlin.
Let’s stop that evil gremlin in its tracks! Please take a moment to use a Sharpie to note your daughter’s initials and uniform number on internal tags / labels. (If she has an older item that’s been through several laundry cycles, make sure the ID is still readable.) Or you can have her initials and uniform number embroidered on the warm-ups. This will prevent needless lost and found angst.

Supportive parent tips:
- Be your daughter’s biggest fan.
- Be the other girls’ 2nd biggest fan (even girls on the opposing team).
- Please allow the girls to make their own decisions. Words of encouragement are welcome, but giving instructions to the girls as they play isn’t recommended. (That type of communication takes away players’ chances to make their own decisions.)
