Game Day: Saturday, April 22, 2023

We’re home on Saturday, April 22. We start with a morning 7v7 rematch against Atlanta Fire at Noonday Park back field #9B Franklin Gateway followed by two afternoon intra-Academy 5v5 games at Quest Park field #7.

Field location change (updated Tues, Apr. 18):  Our 9:00 game has been moved from Noonday Park to Franklin Gateway (near the I-75 / Delk Road interchange).

Game day notes:

  • Multiple venue alert:  Our games are split between two venues:
    • The 9:00 game takes place at Noonday Park back field #9B Franklin Gateway field #2A. The afternoon games are at Quest Park field #7 (our Quest Park practice field). Use the main Quest Park entrance, drive past the clubhouse, and park in the back lot. Field #7 is the small field to the left of the back parking lot.
  • Uniform colors:  We normally wear yellow for home games. But we’re switching to blue for the Quest Park games. Reason:  Quest Park field #7 is adjacent to a wooded area. Flying insects seem to be attracted to our yellow uniforms during warmer weather, but not to our blue uniforms.
  • Player requirements:  Shin guards are required, and must be covered by soccer socks.
  • Player no-nos:
    • No jewelry (see rules about jewelry).
    • No hard or sharp hair accessories like large plastic clips, metal hair clips or beads.
    • No bubble gum or chewing gum.
  • Warm-up captains:  Girls whose names are in bold print with a (C) indicator are warm-up captains. They are responsible for gathering their teammates and helping the coach start pre-game warm-up. Link:  warm-up ideas
  • Supportive parent tips:
    1. Be your daughter’s biggest fan.
    2. Be the other girls’ 2nd biggest fan.
    3. Please allow the girls to make their own decisions.
