Game Day: Saturday, October 28, 2023

Game day notes:

  • No jewelry!  “No jewelry” is one of soccer’s rules. Link:  jewelry rule
  • Uniform colors:  We’re the home team, so we’ll wear our yellow game day uniforms. We’ll use practice vests to distinguish teams in the intra-Academy games.
  • 7v7 play:  We’ll play the 7v7 format in two of the games. We recommend you spend 30-60 minutes of time with your daughter reviewing our 7v7 document. You can clear some table space, get some board game pieces (or coins), and go to town helping the girls get familiar with positional names and responsibilities.
  • “DH” (double-header) game volunteers needed:  We need some players who are scheduled in the 1:30 or 2:45 games to volunteer to play twice. We call this “double header” (DH) play. If your daughter is available to play in both the 1:30 and 2:45 games, please e-mail Ward. Priority goes to players who missed an earlier event due to weather (such as our first fall game day which featured over an hour of lightning delays), or because of illness.
  • Quest Park fields:  Our noon 5v5 game is on Quest field #7, which is one of our usual practice fields. The 1:30 and 2:45 games take place on Quest field #8A, which is one of the big fields down the hill from Quest field #7. You don’t need to concern yourself with Noonday Park on this game day.

Supportive parent tips:

  1. Be your daughter’s biggest fan.
  2. Be the other girls’ 2nd biggest fan.
  3. Please allow the girls to make their own decisions.
