Saturday, March 2 7:30 AM weather / fields update: Noonday fields are closed today (Quest and Metro North too), so our March 2 games have been canceled. Check back Sunday morning after 10:00 AM for a status update on our Sunday, March 3 game.
We play our first official spring 2024 games on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3. We have a set of three 7v7 games at Noonday Park back fields against teams from the Inter Atlanta club, plus a game against NTH Tophat. We finish with a Sunday afternoon game at Metro North against NTH Smyrna.
Game day notes:
- Player availability — still need double header girls: We’re short on players and could use several double-header players. - Noonday back field location — it can be tricky! Our Saturday games are at Noonday Park field #9A. Noonday Park is next door to Quest Park, but stretches all the way back to Shallowford Road. Our games will be on Noonday Park field #9A, which is on the back half of the park, far from the Quest entrance. Field #9A is best reached via the park’s back entrance off Shallowford Road. - About game days: It’s been 3+ months since our last game day. That’s a long time for kids this age. We ask that parents and their daughters spend 10 minutes together reviewing what happens on game days, along with understanding player and parent responsibilities and guidelines. - About 7v7 games: We created a help guide to 7v7 positional play and team shape: the leap to 7v7 soccer.
- Player requirements: Shin guards are required, and must be covered by soccer socks
- Player no-nos:
- No jewelry (see rules about jewelry)
- No hard or sharp hair accessories like large plastic clips, metal hair clips or beads
- No bubble gum or chewing gum
- Warm-up captains: Girls whose names are in bold print with a (C) indicator are warm-up captains. They are responsible for gathering their teammates and helping the coach start pre-game warm-up. Link: warm-up ideas
- Supportive parent tips:
- Be your daughter’s biggest fan.
- Be the other girls’ 2nd biggest fan.
- Please allow the girls to make their own decisions as they play.
